REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), led by Minister Sandiaga Uno, has partnered with RichWorks, a leading business coaching and training company based in Malaysia, and Datuk Wira Dr Azizan Osman, a renowned business mentor and consultant, to provide Indonesian SME entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge to build successful businesses that can generate high revenue and help create 4.4 million job opportunities for the people of Indonesia.

The initiative is part of Kemenparekraf's efforts to support the growth of SMEs, which account for 99 percent of businesses in Indonesia and contribute to 60 percent of the country's GDP. However, many SMEs face challenges such as lack of access to funding, inadequate infrastructure, and limited business knowledge and skills.

"We recognize the important role that SMEs play in the Indonesian economy, and we are committed to supporting their growth and development," said Sandiaga Uno in a statement, Saturday (11/3/2023).

"By partnering with RichWorks and Dr. Azizan Osman, we can provide Indonesian entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in today's competitive business landscape," he added.

RichWorks International, which has trained more than 1 million entrepreneurs and business owners in Malaysia over the past 15 years through its live programs and online learning, will deliver its training programs in Indonesia through its local partners, RichWorks Indonesia.

"We are thrilled to partner with Kemenparekraf and Dr. Azizan Osman to support the growth of SMEs in Indonesia," said Aryani Firdaus, CEO of RichWorks Indonesia.

"We believe that entrepreneurs are the backbone of any economy, and by equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge, we can help them build successful businesses that can create job opportunities and drive economic growth," she added.

The training programs offered by RichWorks and Dr Azizan Osman are designed to cover a range of topics, including leadership, sales and marketing, finance, and digitalization. The training programs are designed to provide ongoing support and coaching to help entrepreneurs apply what they have learned and achieve their business goals.

Dr Azizan Osman, who has worked with numerous businesses in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, believes that the initiative will help Indonesian entrepreneurs overcome the challenges they face and build successful businesses. In 2022, RichWorks built successful businesses that generate collective annual sales of RM 3.5 billion. The company aims to replicate its success in Malaysia by equipping Indonesian entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge.

"Indonesia has a vibrant and diverse business community, but many entrepreneurs face challenges such as limited business knowledge and skills," said Dr Azizan Osman.

"Through this initiative, we aim to provide Indonesian entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge to overcome these challenges and build successful businesses that can contribute to the country's economic development," he added.

The Indonesian government has set an ambitious target of training SMEs with the hope to help create a new generation of entrepreneurs who can drive economic growth at an accelerated rate and help create 4.4 million job opportunities for the people in the near future.
